National Day of Unplugging is an awareness campaign that promotes a 24-hour respite from technology annually observed the first weekend in March.
For more than a decade, schools, religious institutions, and businesses have used resources from NDU like DIY Toolkits and cell phone sleeping bags to inspire healthy life/tech balance the first weekend of March.
Tiffany Shlain, founder of the Webby Awards and Emmy-nominated filmmaker, started unplugging with her family on the very first NDU 11 years ago. They loved it so much, they never stopped. They’ve been unplugging for what they call their Technology Shabbat every week since, and it has completely changed their lives. She chronicles her experience in her national bestselling book 24/6: The Power of Unplugging One Day a Week.
Watch the 2 min film "Dear Student" that Tiffany and her studio Let It Ripple produced to invite us all to participate in National Day of Unplugging.
