About this stream

Welcome to African Energy and Mining Monitor, providing news and analysis of the dynamic sub-Saharan African extractive industries sectors in real time using the Factr information management platform. Factr searches dozens of selected online sources, using powerful Boolean filtering tools to deliver the most relevant content to the stream.

The stream generates constantly updated reporting on the sector, and its economic and social and environmentalimpact on host communities, countries and regions. Subsequently I worked under contact at the Africa Section of the UN Department of Public Information for 12 years, writing about African economic and social development issues.
