I miss you all!

I have been processing our group session since we met yesterday. And I have been remembering some teachings from our big group session on Tuesday. And integrating some teachings each of you offered up yesterday.

First, I have been noticing how I felt reactive to what you were offering, Anneke, about Merete's skillfulness in helping people not "fall off the cliff". I didn't want to be reactive but I was. So I want to own that. I think there were maybe two subgroups and you were offering up yours? And actually, I can feel that I am a member of both subgroups: appreciating Merete's skillfulness and wanting to feel more "met" at times by her.

Second, what you said, Sandra, about our internal boundaries / container collapsing and allowing "too much" in is so helpful to me. I am realizing how much I benefit from container work….work on my container. I am wondering if we might consider ending our Zoom sessions together by doing a little intentional container work like we did at the end of Tuesday's big class?

And third, I am unclear if we all said what we wanted to say about Julie etc.? I am still sitting on the edge with some things so I would be happy to revisit that on June 23 but I am curious what others are feeling?

much love,

Evie

Last thursday I had a therapy session myself and for the first time I gave attention to the hypo parts in me before I made the step to go into expressing a feeling. This really made a difference. I'm having trouble feeling anger and after giving attention to the hypo parts they felt invited and came back and from within arose that I'm allowed to be angry. It is a first step but I was amazed by how it worked and I could see what Merete meant by owning your feeling. Is this something you recognise of have experience with?

I have really been enjoying gently pushing my hands out (palms facing my body) while breathing in exercise. I didn't remember the exercise all day until I was starting to wind down last night and get ready for bed. It's interesting the timing around when we "remember" exercises and when we "forget" them. It all feels rather mysterious and almost out of my "control" regarding when I have access to a practice. Do others find that mysterious? I think I like calling it mysterious rather than feeding the shame voices that I should know this more or remember this better etc. etc.

HI Sandra and Anneke!

Welcome to our Hypo Response study group! This is my first time forming a group on the platform, so we will all be learning together about it. I am so glad you are both here too!

Onward with our exploration on Hypo Response.

I have moved into giving my hypo responses value and attention. In the past I mowed over them, and now more and more I can start to listen to them.

Working with clients, I find I have been narrowing down muscle group management tools Merete has taught us, along with the joints. I want to help clients find what feels right but I am cautious about overwhelming them. How are you doing that?
