The right thing to do is to deaccession the art and return it to its originating country (or ethnic group, as appropriate). If leaders there would rather have it in a European museum, it can be reaccessioned properly. Remove the taint of looting and let the art be given its proper value. (This applies to all art from minority cultures that was taken by white people, not just African art in European museums.)
